Nonprofit Strategic Planning

Strategic planning establishes a shared vision and creates alignment around organizational priorities. It provides a compass that can guide program, structural, and financial decisions for your nonprofit. There are different types of strategic planning and although the outcome of alignment and direction are the same, the angle and purpose can vary. We specialize in identifying which approach best matches your needs and creating a plan to help you gain clarity and direction.

Our proven strategic planning process includes:

Discovery

It is important to INP that we familiarize ourselves with your past and present before we begin working with you towards your future. This step produces the insight needed to create a customized plan for your strategic planning process.

Assessment & Community Input

Next, we carry out a Nonprofit Health Check™, working with you to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement. Then we will work with you to gather input from your key constituencies – board, committees, staff, and others you suggest.

Planning

The actual strategic planning process is hands-on with your key people. This is work, but it can be fun, too. After all, you will be dreaming about your future, and that tends to ignite excitement.

Implementation

We will take your identified priorities and goals and turn them into a functioning document with timelines, measurable goals, and accountability checks.

Progress Review

Because we want to support your success, we promise to check in with you and help if you need to reassess some of your goals.
