Program Development
Nonprofit organizations often lead with their heart and their mission, but organizing the operations may not come as easily. INP, as a White House approved consulting firm, and with extensive experience helping nonprofits build the skills and infrastructure to sustain their mission, worked with Journey On in several key areas. Thanks to a three-way partnership in Rapid City, Journey On is on more solid ground and better able to provide life-saving outreach to the city’s most vulnerable residents.
Custom Policy & Procedure Creation
For 25 years, the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame has been dedicated to preserving the history of motorcycling, honoring the legends who shaped the sport and lifestyle, and celebrating the legacy of the iconic Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. But when Heidi Haro took on the role of executive director of the organization, she realized that they were lacking solid policies and procedures, and the bylaws needed an update.
Haro’s board had expressed interest first in updating bylaws, so they contracted with INP to handle that task. What started small, eventually turned into a year-long project and a 127-page policy manual that is now in the hands of all board members and staff.
Comprehensive Organizational Support
Early Childhood Connections (ECC) partners with parents, caregivers, and educators to improve the quality of childcare and enrich the lives of children in Rapid City. In 2024, ECC expanded its Starting Strong program, serving preschool-aged children from low-income families, with support from the John T. Vucurevich Foundation, which connected ECC with INP to strengthen the organization’s infrastructure. Over the course of a year, INP supported ECC with strategic planning, board development, rebranding, and operational improvements, enabling the organization to grow with clarity and confidence. As a result, ECC is positioned to move forward stronger and deliver higher-quality services to more children and families.
Board Development & Website Design
Custer Ambulance Service (CAS), a nonprofit serving western Custer County, South Dakota, engaged INP in 2024 to support a major organizational transition. Through a comprehensive assessment and hands-on guidance, INP helped realign the board, update bylaws, and establish clear policies that strengthened accountability and operational efficiency. INP also supported CAS with board training and the development of a professional new website that elevated community awareness and aligned with their high-quality emergency services.
Donor Management & Fundraising
For nearly three decades, Bethel’s Foundation operated without a centralized donor management system, resulting in scattered records, inconsistent reporting, and vulnerable data. In 2020, the organization partnered with INP to implement Engage, embarking on a thorough process to gather, clean, and unify its donor information. With INP’s guidance, Bethel transformed its fragmented data into a secure, accessible, and insightful resource that now powers meaningful reporting, personalized donor engagement, and more efficient day-to-day operations.
Website Redesign
Executive director Julie Breu knew that the success and growth of the museum was largely dependent on image and what people saw on its website, but she didn’t have the time or the expertise to take on the web project herself. A successful past project in board development with INP’s CEO, Emma Shears, led Julie to reach out for help redesigning the website.
Grant Support
Jacque Waggoner, Hunter’s Hope CEO found herself somewhat overwhelmed with the busyness of her small staff and the need to research and write grants while also continuing the important programmatic mission of Hunter’s Hope. She did what most people do – she headed to Google to see if anyone could help. That’s how she found Innovative NonProfit’s grant research services.
